Day 302

Today is Lizzy's 3rd birthday.

We are going to Chicago to the Shedd Aquarium for the day on the train.

But..we have to have cake when we get home and open presents.

This is the cake that Lizzy told me she wanted.

Vanilla cake with yellow frosting and sprinkles with Dora and candles.

I think I got it all.

Yesterday was the Making Strides Against Breast cancer walk.

I was a proud member of Vickie's Chickies and raised $1085. so far with a few more pledges coming in. It was a great day with great friends and family.

This is what the backs of our shirts looked like.

Aren't they cute?

Day 283

More than 250 motorcycles from the Patriot Guard helped lead fallen hero James Butz home through three towns of streets lined with people and American flags.

You could have heard a pin drop in the crowd where I stood.

It was one of the saddest and proudest moments of my life.

Saturday, October 8, 2011

Day 282

Today, these flags will be lowered to half staff in our little town

as we welcome home our fallen hero.

Thank you Specialist James Butz for making the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

You will be remembered always.

This is Jack's buddy Adam. He was born on Jack's first birthday. There is something about being born on April 13 that just makes you really cute!
